Are shared cars private, and what do the people on a car see?

This answer hasn't been translated yet, so it's shown in English.

Shared cars are end-to-end encrypted. WitnessWork's server stores only encrypted records: it can't see the car's name, its trips, notes, or amounts, or who is on the car. It does see how many records a car has, their sizes, and when they change. Nobody can read a car without an invitation from someone on it. When someone leaves or is removed, they can't read new changes, and the car's key changes.

What the people on a car see: its whole history, including trips from before they joined, who logged and edited each trip, the car's fuels and prices, and trip notes. People who aren't your buddies see you by the name and photo you share.

Notes: a trip's note is shared with everyone on the car, and the note editor says so, for example “Shared with 2 other people on this car.” A note too long to share can't be saved until you shorten it.

Photos aren't shared. A shared car's trip form has no photo button. A photo a trip already had stays on the device that has it, and the note says “Its photos aren't shared.”

What stays yours: your other cars and their trips aren't shared. Only the car you share, and everything on it, is.
